Kurt is a founding member of Turnham Green. Kurt has over 25 years of business experience in roles involving investment banking, corporate strategy, marketing strategy, structured finance and board of director representation. During his career, he has lived in Milan, Montreal, Auckland, Dallas and London (UK) and has worked for various international organizations including Enron Global Markets, RWE and Methanex Corporation. Over the past decade he has been responsible for the national expansion of a finance company and increasing its assets managed from $5 Million to $700 Million. Kurt is the Chairman of the board for 2 investment companies with assets under management exceeding $500 Million. Kurt has an MBA from studies at the University of British Columbia and Bocconi University (Italy) as well as a Joint Honors degree in Economics and Business from Simon Fraser University. In his free time, Kurt enjoys the outdoors, travel, and spending time with his family.
Brent is a founding member of Turnham Green. Brent has over 35 years business experience involving loan adjudication, operations, financial management and corporate structuring. Over the past decade he has been responsible for the national expansion of a finance company and increasing its assets managed from $5 Million to $700 Million. Brent currently sits on the board of 3 investment companies overseeing assets in access of $500 Million. Brent has lived in BC all of his life and has a Diploma of Technology from Selkirk College. In his free time, Brent enjoys playing squash, travel, the outdoors, and spending time with his family.
Chief Financial Officer
Steve is a founding member of Turnham Green. He is also the CFO for Amur Financial Group and has over 20 years of professional experience working for both public and private companies including Westport Innovations, The Jim Pattison Group, and KPMG. Steve has an MBA from UBC along with a Chartered Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA) with over 5 years of auditing experience. Steve oversees all accounting, financial reporting, IT, cash flow management, and financial management of funds. Outside of work, Steve enjoys time with friends, trips with his family and a round of golf.
Shawn has been involved in financial management and corporate affairs since 2006. He currently manages day to day accounting activities, management reports, payroll, liaison with the banks and corporate records. Shawn has a Diploma in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. He is currently pursuing his degree in Business Administration from the Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Shawn is an avid sports fan, which he likes to watch and play. On the weekends, he trains for Triathlon events and also enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Arif brings over 15 years’ experience to the Group and has held roles in corporate strategy, marketing strategy, finance and management consulting. Arif is currently the CEO of the Amur Financial Group, a national finance company with over 80 employees. Arif obtained BSc and MSc degrees from UBC, an MBA (Finance and International Business) from the University of Calgary and the Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA, CMA) from CPABC. Arif has also taught business at the University of Calgary and Douglas College. In his free time, Arif enjoys sports, reading, and spending time with his family.
Jennifer is an expert in the commercialization of applied science. She has over 25 years’ experience involving international marketing, investor relations, business operations and start ups. Jennifer is the founder of Herstasis Health and is an active business mentor, board member and angel investor. She brings a wealth of experience to technology companies looking to make a positive difference in the world. During her free time, Jennifer enjoys time with friends, travelling and riding her bike.
Matthew has over 15 years’ experience in roles involving investor relations, corporate governance, government relations and banking. Matthew graduated from Carleton University with a BA and obtained his MBA in 2012 while working as a business banker with TD Canada Trust. Matthew has continued his studies through the UBC Sauder School of Business Executive Education program, the Institute for Canadian Bankers, the Canadian Securities Institute, and the Institute for Financial Services Education. Matthew and his wife have two young children and he enjoys golfing, cycling, playing guitar, and the outdoors.
